CAIRO - 3 June 2019: Renowned film critic Tarek el-Shennawi affirmed that veteran star Ezzat Abu Auf is currently in the ICU unit of one of the hospitals in a critical condition.

The film critic asked Abu Auf’s fans to pray for him as he is suffering a very complex disease.

It is noteworthy that Abu Auf appeared in one of the advertisements broadcast during the holy month. His last dramatic work was a role in the screenplay “God Father P II” for director Tamer Hamza, written by Hany Sarhan. The series was starring Sawsan Badr, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Mido Adel, among others.

Ezzat Ahmed Shafiq, born in 1948, has achieved a bachelor’s degree in medicine. Auf and his sisters founded a band in the early 1980s that was known as The Four M. Together, they performed roles in several theatrical performances.

His sister, Maha, later pursued an acting career disbanding The Four M. This caused Auf to focus on television and cinema projects.

Among the acting performances where his talents were most apparent were “Hawanem Garden City”, “Nisf Rabie Al Akhir” and “Ziziniyah”.

The veteran actor got married to someone he met outside of the acting community and he has two children; Kamal and Mariam.
