Numerous cultural, artistic events to be held on May 16

CAIRO - 16 May 2019: On Ramadan 11, a number of cultural and artistic events will be held in Cairo Opera House, heritage parks and cultural centers.

Egypt today sheds the light on the numerous activities set to be held on May 16 (Ramadan 11).

In Cairo Opera House’s open theater, lovers of the Sufi recitals meet Moroccan vocalist Jawad al-Shari at 9:30 p.m.

In the Fine Arts Sector, Saad Zaghloul Cultural Museum is opening an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy at 8 p.m. The exhibition runs until June 2. In addition, the Ramattan Cultural Center will present at 8:30 p.m. the “Dialogue of the Arts Ramadan” which presents religious songs and folk arts.

Furthermore, the Cultural Development Fund Sector will hold a number of activities, including the exhibition of “Egyptian hands” of traditional crafts from a number of governorates around the country. The exhibition will be held in the Center of Traditional Crafts in Fustat and will run until Ramadan 13.

In the House of Suhaime in the historical Muezz Street, a concert will be performed by the band of the National Center for Theater at 9:30 p.m.

At the Horreya Center for Creativity in Alexandria, an oriental night for Yasser el-Sharkawy and his band will be performed at 9:30 p.m.

At the Hanager Center for Arts, a musical concert by el-Nour wal Amal Orchestra (Light and Hope orchestra) will be presented at 9p.m.

Moreover, El-Sebaeya band will perform a selection of religious recitals and a performance by the Ismailia Folklore band will take place at 9 p.m. as part of the activities of the northern wall of Cairo.

In the Al Shaer Theater of Al - Muezz Street, a concert will be performed by the New Valley Folklore Band at 9 p.m.

At the Syndicate of Journalists, El Arish Folklore Ensemble will present a show at 9 p.m. In Helwan Mental Health Hospital, another show will be performed by the Beni Suef Folk Arts Ensemble at 9 p.m.

As part of Faisal International Book Fair activities, an artistic show of the Oriental Folk Art Ensemble will be performed at 9 p.m.
