CAIRO - May 1 2019: Egyptian actress Naglaa Badr filed a lawsuit against the makers of TV series “Zi El Shams” (Like the sun) and accused them of using her father’s cemetery without her permission and her family one.

The star also accused the makers of filming a few of the scenes inside the family cemetery without her permission or prior knowledge.

The actress stated that she was shocked when she saw the TV series promo featuring prominent actress Sawsan Badr inside the cemetery, stressing that the filming was done without the prior knowledge or consent of her family.

“The cemetery is not for sale or rent” said Badr, asserting that her family will “take all legal proceedings” she added.

The TV series makers denied the accusations and claimed that the cemetery used in the filming of the scene does not belong to the actresses’ family. They added that the arrangement is usually done with the cemetery guards, which is what had occurred prior to the filming of the scene.

“Zi El Shams” is co-starring Dina el-Sherbiny, Ahmed Dawood, Riham Abdel Ghafour, Ahmed el-Saadany, among others. The series is written by Mariam Naoom and directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz. “Zi el Shams” is scheduled to premiere during the holy month of Ramadan.
