CAIRO - 14 February 2019: Veteran actor Farouk el-Fishawy agreed to co-star in the play “King Lear” alongside prominent actor Yehia el-Fakharani. The play is set to stage in one of the theaters located in the Fifth Settlement.

It is worth noting that Fishawy will perform on stage after a hiatus of 18 years; his last play was “El-Nas Eli Fel Talet” in 2001 for veteran playwright Osama Anwar Okasha.

"King Lear" stars Yehia el-Fakharani, Rania Farid Shawky, and Riham Abdel Ghafour, among others.

Fishawy is an Egyptian actor and producer. He was married to actress Somaya el-Alfy. His son Ahmed el-Fishawy is one of the most controversial actors in modern Egyptian cinema.

Fishawy is best known for his roles in “Istighatha Min Al-Alam el-Akhar” (1985), “Zombie Goes Zombie” and “The United” (2012). He was previously awarded the Africa Movie Academy Award for best actor in a leading role.
