CAIRO – 11 January 2019:The General Egyptian Book Authority announced the titles of the new books issued by the authority in 2018, which is scheduled to be presented in the golden jubilee of the Cairo International Book Exhibition, scheduled to launch on Jan. 22 and run until Feb. 5, at the Egyptian Exhibition Center in the fifth settlement district.

The exhibition will be held on a total area of 450 thousand square meters. 169 exhibitors representing 35 countries will be present. The total number of Egyptian publishers participating in the exhibition totals up to1273 publishers. On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee, The Arab League was chosen as the guest of honor of the exhibition in its 50th edition, with the personalities of the book exhibition being Dr. Suheir Al-Qalmawi and Dr. Tharwat Okasha.

The exhibition consists of 4 halls, each hall with an area of 10,000 meters. The first hall is dedicated to books of heritage, Al-Azhar and books from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.The second hall will be offering books of Arab publishers and Foreign books, whereas the third hall will be presenting books of Egyptian publishers.

In addition, the fourth hall is the main hall which presentsbooks for children.The main hall is where books will be present for purchasing by visitors and consist of all the necessary equipment regarding the book exhibition.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem commented that thecurrent year will hostseveral important events and shows, including the proclamation of the Egyptian-French year, the launching of the Arab Theater Festival and launching of the Cairo International Book Exhibition on Jan. 22; under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The minister’s comment came during the press conference for announcing the details of the golden jubilee of the Cairo International Book Exhibition in its 50th edition, held on Jan. 10, 2019.
