King Ramses Statue witness the construction works in GEM - Egypt Today
CAIRO – 24 December 2018: Numerous international media outlets shed light on the much-anticipated archaeological entity, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)before its launching in 2020.
The Grand Egyptian Museum is expected to host a large number of antiquities and the largest restoration labs in the world withhigh-level Egyptian restoration experts.
Recently, Euro News channel broadcasted a video from inside the museum, revealing the current construction works and the restoration labs, set to be the largest in the world for the restoration of antiquities.
Euro News channel described the Grand Egyptian Museum as “unique”. The news outlet also explained that the GEM will host over 100,000 artifacts, including Tutankhamun's treasures discovered in 1922. The GEM will span on an area of 50,000 square meters.

Furthermore, Los Angeles Timesdescribed the GEM as “large in cost and ambition”. The newspaper also described the much anticipated museum as the “largest museum dedicated to one civilization”.
The GEM will host the belongings of Tutankhamun’s tomb, which alone totals up to 5000 artifacts.
The newspaper stated on its website on Dec. 17 that 100 specialists are working on renovating the ancient artifacts in 17 laboratories. Some of the artifacts are over 3000 years old, including ancient artifacts related to the Tomb of Tutankhamun, which were transferred to the museum before its official launching in 2020.
Moreover, Al Arabiya TV news channel also celebrated the Grand Egyptian Museum, presenting a video on the museum's details from the inside and outside; as one of the largest archaeological entities around the world.

“The GEM will be held on an area of 50,000 square meters, and will present 100,000 different artifacts dedicated to the ancient Egyptian civilization. The GEM comes in conjunction with the development of the Pyramids area,” stated the video.
In addition, CNN monitored the facilities of the Grand Egyptian Museum and noted that 5,000 workers are working around the clock to finish the museum, which is expected to be launched by the end of 2019.
The CNN’s report regarding the GEM stated that the entity will be held over an area of 5.2 million cubic feet.
Last but not least, the Argentinian National Newspaper stated that it will be finally “easy to get to know the life of the ancient Egyptian King Tutankhamun through the GEM which will display all artifacts regarding his controversial life”.
