CAIRO – 19 December 2018: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem decided to take all legal procedures to protect the collection inside the library of late artist Hassan Kamy, which includes rare manuscripts, books and documents.

A committee was established under the chairmanship of Hesham Azmi, head of the Egyptian National Library and Archives, to prepare a detailed report on the library's holdings.
In addition, the Public Prosecution of Qasr el-Nile will take the necessary legal measures to preserve the artifacts in the library and prevent any of the heirs or others to dispose of them in accordance with Article 3 of Law 8 of 2009 and its amendments.
The Central Department of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Culture was instructed to warn both the heirs and the library owner to prevent the disposal of the contents until after the work of the committee is completed.
The Ministry of Culture encourages all citizens to prevent the abuse of our national heritage by stopping any illegal activities that may harm the ancient contents.
