The Egyptian actress expressed her deep happiness for being selected as the guest of honor of MIFF, especially in the festival’s edition where Hollywood star Robert de Niro is honored, and in the presence of the international film director Martin Scorsese.

The veteran actress further clarified that selecting her and famed Egyptian actress Laila Elwi as the festival’s guests of honor is a reflection of the great influence of the Egyptian arts and dramatic works on the MENA region.

Egyptian director Inas el-Degheidy, actress Bushra and Egyptian actor Bassem Samra were also in attendance.

Yousra pointed to the great Egyptian participation in the festival, represented by the participation of two films in the festival’s official competition, “Lail Khargy” (External Night) by Ahmed Abdullah al-Sayed and “La ahad honak” (No One There) by Ahmed Magdy, confirming that the Egyptian cinema will remain Egypt's most influential power.
