CAIRO – 8 October 2018: Deputy of General Egyptian Book Organisation Ahmed Bahaa el-Din, accompanied by Islam Bayoumi, the head of the shows sector, travelled on Oct. 8 to Germany to represent Egypt in Frankfurt Book Fair, set to run from October 10-14.

Bayoumi told Egypt Today that Egypt's pavilion at the Frankfurt Book Fair will promote for the Cairo International Book Fair’s golden jubilee scheduled to kick off on January 23, 2019.

Bayoumi pointed out that the General Egyptian Book Organisation published a book in English that contains all the details pertaining to the 50th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair.

Also, the General Egyptian Book Organisation will present a promoting documentary about Cairo International Book Fair’s golden jubilee translated into English.
Bayoumi added that the General Egyptian Book Organisation will work to attract foreign publishing houses to present their work in Cairo International Book Fair.

It is worth mentioning that Minister of Culture, Inas Abdel Dayem, met with the manager of the National Company for Exhibitions and International Conferences and the president of the Egyptian General Book Organization on Oct. 2 in the organization's headquarters in the Fifth Settlement.

The meeting aimed to finalize the agreements regarding the Cairo International Book Fair’s golden jubilee celebrations. The celebrations will take place for the first time in the fair’s new location.

The minister inspected the halls hosting the event, and watched a short film showing the new facilities and gigantic parking lots designated for the book fair. The film also showed the different successful events previously hosted by the same premises.
The celebration is going to be a special one, according to the minister, as the League of Arab States is going to be the guest of honor.

Abdel Dayem assured that the new place designated to host the book fair in 2019 offers the local and international prints a bigger opportunity to participate in the much anticipated annual event.
