CAIRO – 6 October 2018: The 22nd edition of the National Film Festival will honor super star Nadia el-Gendy. The festival is set to take place from Oct. 22 to 28, 2018. The honoring ceremony will be labeled “Cinema: Eternal Moments”.

Many critics in the local film industry welcomed honoring the Egyptian veteran actress due to her rich acting career and her dramatic works that are deeply carved in the hearts and minds of the Egyptians and Arabs throughout the Pan-Arab region.

The actress had always portrayed women issues in her movies and discussed several important aspects that touch Egyptians and Arabs. Gendy starred in a total of 60 movies.

Gendy is considered by many as the only actress that seriously competed with men, who dominate the industry in general.

During the 70’s and early 80’s, Adel Imam, Nour el-Sherif, Ahmed Zaki and Gendi were the focus of the film makers in the industry because of their unlimited talents and intriguing acting skills.

Gendy managed to excel in her roles as a teacher, a mother, a spy, a lawyer and a queen. The actress does not prefer to appear in many festivals, but when she appears, she surely gets all the attention.
