CAIRO – 23 September 2018: The Egyptian Opera House, headed by Magdy Saber, will host for the first time the Syrian theatrical dance group Ornina in celebration of the group’s 25th anniversary.

The Syrian dance group will perform “Tareeq Al-Hareer” (Silk Road) directed by Nasser Ibrahim in the Grand Hall of the Cairo Opera House at 8 p.m. from Sept. 25-28, 2018. The play revolves around a young man named Jubair who lives in Alandalous, Spain. Jubair falls in love with leila, hence deciding to propose to her and speak to her father.

Leila’s father insists that for Jubeir to marry his daughter, he has to gift her with a special necklace as a way of expressing deep love. Jubair travels the entire world through the “Silk Road” in order to get that much anticipated necklace, and eventually to marry his beloved.

Jubair meets a lot of interesting people in the countries he passes through during his venture, and faces several incidents. Jubeir’s determination and genuine feelings for his beloved allow him to combat all hardships.

Ornina group was founded in 1993, by director Nasser Ibrahim, aiming to build an educated generation of artists who can perform all genres of art, expressing the deepest of emotions in creative and modern ways.
