Museum entry prices raised by Minister Inas Abdel Dayem

CAIRO – 7 August 2018: Minister of Culture, Inas Abdel Dayem, issued a decision to raise the prices of tickets of national museums, art/cultural museums and any entity related to the fine arts governmental sector.

The increase in prices will differ from one category to the other.
For instance, the fee will be lower for locals than for expats and tourists. Additionally, a fixed photography fee of LE 20 will be applied for all museum visitors.

The decision will be applied on 11 entities.

The increase in prices will be as follows:

• The Egyptian Museum of Modern Art:

- Locals: LE 10
- Students: LE 5
- Expats/tourists: LE 20
- Photography fee: LE 20

The previous prices will be also applied in Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum. This monument was originally a palace built in the early 20th century.

The following artistic and cultural museums will witness a slight increase in prices:

• Al-Nasr Musem of Modern Art – Port Said
• Effat Nagy & Sa’ad al-Khadem Museum
• Mohamed Nagy Museum
• Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum
• Zakaria al-Khanani Museum
• Ratib Sadik Museum
• Anji Aflaton Museum
• Hassan Heshmat Museum

The increase in prices will be as follows:

- Locals: LE 5
- Students: LE 3
- Expats/tourists: 10 LE
- Photography fee: LE 20

A different increase in prices will be applied on the following national museums:

• Beit El-Umma Museum
• Ahmed Shawki Museum
• Taha Hussein Museum
• Mansoura Museum (Dar Ibn Loqman)
• Denshway Museum

The increase in prices will be as follows:

- Locals: LE 5
- Students: 3 LE
- Expats/tourists: LE 10
- Photography fee: LE 20

Furthermore, El-Abnoudi Musuem and Mustafa Kamel Museum will remain free of charge for locals, students and foreigners alike.

The following six categories are exempted from paying any fee:

• People with special needs
• Seniors above 60 years of age
• Children under 12 years of age
• Members of professional art unions
• Members of national committees for international museums
