CAIRO – 30 July 2018: The Tunisian film “Tunis Fel Leil” (Tunisia by Night) is currently competing in the 11th edition of Oran International Arabic Film Festival that kicked off on July 25 and will end on July 30.

The movie revolves around a singer named Aziza who suffers from the absence of her father and all the social complications she faces in the conservative society.

“Tunis Fel Leil” stars Amira Shalaby, Raouf ben Amor, Amel Hedhili, and Helmi Dridi, among others. The film is co-produced by Elyes Baccar and Mohamed Ali ben Hamra, written and directed by Elyes Baccar.

“Tunis Fel Leil” made its international premiere at the 39th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival. The movie was the only Arab film participating in the Official International Competition.

The movie was well-received after screening in Tunisian cinemas. Shalaby previously announced that she was happy with the audience’s feedback.

It is worth mentioning that the 11th edition of Oran International Arabic Film Festival honored Egyptian director Khaled Youssef, veteran comedian Mohamed Henedy and the late veteran Egyptian actress and singer Shadia.

The festival chose the Egyptian movie “Karma” to be the opening film of the festival. The movie revolves around two people who never cross paths, but have common life circumstances.

“Karma” stars Amr Saad, Zeina, Ghada Abdel Razek, Suheir el-Ghadban, Khaled el-Sawy, Wafaa Amer, Maged el-Masry, Dalal Abdel Aziz, Magdy Kamel, Ehab Fahmy, Mostafa Darwish, Hassan Harb and the young child, Birla.

The movie is written and directed by Khaled Youssef, produced and distributed by Masr Arabia Production Company. The film is scheduled to be released in several Arab countries soon.

“Karma” marks famed Egyptian director Youssef's comeback to movie directing after seven years of hiatus. His last film, “Kaf Qamar” (Qamar’s Hand), was screened in 2011. “Karma” also marks Youssef's fourth collaboration with Amr Saad, the sixth with Ghada Abdel Razek and the third with Wafaa Amer.
