CAIRO – 23 March 2018: Celebrate the arrival of spring at the Cairo Opera House with a marvelous performance bringing together violinist Yasser El Serafi, soprano Dalia Farouk and pianist David Hales on Monday, March 26.

“Spring Concert” will feature compositions by masters such as Debussy, Saraste, Elgar and more. Farouk, who studied at the Cairo Conservatory, is also a member of the Cairo Opera Company, while El Serafi is the Cairo Symphony Orchestra's concertmaster.

El Serafi was born in Alexandria on 1969, and had been playing the violin since the age of six. His immense aptitude and passion for music led him to win the first prize at the National Strings Competition in 1986. By 1988 he received a scholarship from the French Government to continue his musical studies in Paris, and would eventually go on to win four gold medals, along with the “Excellence in Violin & Chamber Music” degree from the Conservatoire National de Rueil-Malmaison and the Conservatoire National de Paris.

El Serafi has conducted the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, the Alexandria Chamber Orchestra and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra in 2005. Apart from his work at the Orchestra, Yasser also gives numerous solo performances.
