CAIRO – 22 January 2018: Opera Cultural House celebrates the memory of the 105th birthday of the late prominent Egyptian artist Hussein Bikar through an event led by the artist Amin El Serafy on January 24 at the Small Hall of Cairo Opera House.

According to the Opera’s statement, the event’s program will include the screening of the film “Bikar” in the presence of its director Inas El Hendy and its presenter Nagy El Shenawy, who is an Egyptian engineer.

The film presents the artistic journey of Bikar, many of his artworks and the special artistic stages that he passed through to create his significant paintings. The film also presents feedback from prominent Egyptian artists such as Mohammed Abla and Adel El Siwy on Bikar’s artworks.

Bikar is a notable artistic icon among the pioneers of contemporary art in Egypt. He is also considered to be one of the most prominent portrait artists globally. He is also known as one of the prominent pioneers who introduced cartoons and graphics to the world of journalism. He also introduced novel graphics to children’s stories and books.

In addition to his artistic talents, Bikar is a writer, literary critic and musician.
