CAIRO- 2 January 2018: MondeDalida, an Egyptian Dalida tribute band will be staging El Sawy Culture Wheel, performing some of Dalida’s songs on January 13. The tribute concert will include some of Dalida’s most famous and celebrated songs.

“ModeDalida” was founded in July 2017, and debuted in October 2017 on the French Institute in Cairo’s stage for their “Dailda Days” Dalida tribute event.

The band is comprised of lead vocalist Mariam Mounir, Mohamed Wave on flute and saxophone, Wagdy el-Fiwy on piano, Abdallah el-Asabgy on bass guitar, and Kennesh on percussion.

Dalida (real name Yolanda Gigliotti) was an internationally recognized French-Italian star whose debut song “Bambino” became an international success.

She was especially popular in Italy, and her fame spread throughout Europe and, later, in America. Her success in Egypt was tremendous, and her Egyptian songs are still remembered today. She is known for her dramatic life, glamorous appearances, and tragic death.
