Acclaimed filmmaker Amir Ramses to discuss techniques in film industry at Cima

CAIRO – 23 December 2017: Prominent documentary and filmmaker Amir Ramses will be speaking about basic directing techniques and discussing the filmmaking industry as part of an intensive five-day workshop on Tuesday at art space Cima.

Director for numerous short films and documentaries, Amir Ramses is an Egyptian filmmaker and writer, known for ground-breaking films such as “Jews of Egypt” which participated in Hamburg Film Festival in Germany and “Betawqit El qahera” (In Cairo’s Time),among others.

He studied filmmaking at the High Cinema Institute in 2000 and has first worked as an assistant with the internationally acclaimed Egyptian director Youssef Chahin in “Silence We are Shooting”, “11 09 01” and “Alexandria New York”.

Rmases has been a member of the jury board of the first edition of El Gouna Film Festival that was held last September. He has also been a crucial judge and a jury president for Youssef Chahin film festival 2012, Jury president for the second edition of Alexandria short film festival 2016 among other national and international film festivals.
