Shadia passed away on Tuesday at the age of 86 after being transferred to a hospital earlier this month following a brain stroke. She was hospitalized in the intensive care unit with a medical crew following up on her case.

Sources close to the renowned singer speculated that Shadia’s family did not want to announce that she was being hospitalized to avoid people swarming. At the time she was deeply in need of rest and treatment, so they preferred to deny the news of her severe illness.

After news of her death broke, many Middle Eastern celebrities mourned her such as Youssra, Adel Emam, Nabila Ebeed, Mona Zaki, Ahlam and Mohamed El Gheti.
