CAIRO – 22 November 2017: The 2015 Australian revenge comedy-drama "The Dressmaker," starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis and Hugo Weaving will screen at the

39th Cairo International Film Festival

.

Winslet portrays Tilly Dunnage, who returns to her dusty Australian hometown of Dungatar years after she was accused of murdering her schoolmate and banished from the town.
Now, as a seductive femme-fatale sporting haute couture from France, she seeks to clear her name, find vengeance, and the truth. The story is adapted from a Rosalie Ham novel published in 2000 under the same name.

Directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, "The Dressmaker" marked the acclaimed Australian director’s return to film after 20 years. She was best known for her 1991 drama "Proof."



The 39th Cairo International Film Festival runs from Tuesday November 21 until Thursday November 30.
