CAIRO – 5 November 2017: German drama film “Grüße aus Fukushima” [Greetings from Fukushima] will screen at Goethe Institute Alexandria on Tuesday.

Incorporating a focus on Japan’s great earthquake of 2011, the film revolves around a German divorced woman who wants to travel abroad. She decides to travel with aiding campaigns that head to Fukushima where she becomes friends with an elderly Japanese woman.

Released in 2016, the film is directed and written by Doris Dörrie and and stars Rosalie Thomasas, Kaori Momio, and Mami Kamata.

“Greetings from Fukushima” has won many prizes such as the Golden Duke for Best Actor in Odessa International Film Festival 2016, Heiner Carow Prize and C.I.C.A.E. Award in Berlin International Film Festival in 2016, among others.
