Drama’s impact on Arab music to be discussed at festival

CAIRO – 2 November 2017: As part of the 26th edition of the Arab Music Festival, a conference will be held in the Small Hall of the Cairo Opera House on November 4 to discuss the impacts of drama on Arab music.

At the same time, Tunisian singer Lotfi Bouchnak will perform a concert at 8:00 p.m. in the Great Hall, accompanied by Abdel Halim Noireh Ensemble for Arab Music led by the maestro Salah Ghobashy.

The 26th Arab Music Festival, running November 1-15, features 84 Arab musicians who will partake in the festival, which is dedicated to honoring iconic singer Mohsen Farouk.

Eight Arab countries will lead performances in six theaters, including the Cairo Opera House, Arab Music Institute, Alexandria Opera House and Damanhour Opera House.

The musicians and singers participating in this edition include Medhat Saleh, Mohamed El Helw, Ali El Haggar, Nadia Mostafa, Lotfi Bushnaq, Abdallah Al Rowaished, Mohamed Tharwat, Hany Shaker and Safwan Bahlawan, among others.
