Austrian band Federspiel to perform concert in Egypt

CAIRO – 1 November 2017: The band Federspiel will perform a concert at the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University on November 12.

It is the first tour of the band in Egypt. Their unique style combines traditional Austrian folk and various elements of world music.

Founded in 2004 in Krems, Vienna, seven young musicians from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna came together to form an incredible ensemble called Federspiel.

A seven-piece ensemble that redefines brass-band music works on melodies and improvises their own music besides their show of original folk music.

Federspiel’s style is defined by the origins and backgrounds of each individual musician and creates the unique sound of the band. Due to this part of Federspiel’s music, much of their music is in house with pop elements, as well as arrangements of traditional Mexican music. They also use the Zither as a solo instrument.
