Master of Comedy - Sean Hughes, 51 died Monday morning in hospital

CAIRO – 16 October 2017: After spending one week in the hospital, Hughes succumbed on Monday morning to cirrhosis of the liver.

John Hughes, known as Sean Hughes who was best known as a team captain on BBC’s “Never Mind the Buzzcocks,” was the youngest winner of the Edinburgh comedy award.

Hughes, 51, won the Perrier Comedy Award in 1990 for his show “A One Night Stand,” which was a huge indication of Hughes’ talent in terms of writing and acting as well as a standup comedian.

In addition to his TV shows, Hughes wrote five books of which, “The Detainees” (1998) and “It’s What He Would Have Wanted” (2000) are the top two.
