'It' wins Box Office surpassing Lawrence's 'mother'

Cairo – 17 September 2017: Following its record-breaking opening weekend last week, "It" made an estimated $60 million (1 billion EGP) this weekend to win the box office for the second weekend in a row, according to Box office mojo.

The Horror film exceeded all expectations, the production company Warner Bros. was hoping only for $35 million, the budget of the movie, according to Jeff Goldstein, the distribution chief at Warner Bros. But, the film now made a total of $218.7 million (3.8 billion EGP) at the domestic box office, which makes it the highest grossing September release of all time. It also scored 8.0 on IMDB and 85% on rotten tomatoes.

The real surprise this weekend, is “mother” for Jennifer Lawrence, which was believed to be the real competitor for “It” in the box office. However, the movie ended the weekend with $7.5 million (132 million EGP), below its $11 million (194 million EGP) projection. It's the worst opening ever in Lawrence’s career.
