CAIRO – 30 August 2017: The ‘Egyptian Heritage Encyclopedia’ will be discussed at Heliopolis Library on September 24.

The Encyclopedia was collected by Ayman Othman, and it was published in 2017 during Cairo International Book Fair by Noon publishing house.

It will be discussed by Dr. Hossam Aa’kl and Mohamed Gad, the discussion will be hosted by Sayed Shomaan.

Many forgotten and scattered stories from the history of Egypt are retold in the book, in addition to a unique and rare collection of photos.

There were 20 stories, mainly about the first film showed in cinemas, the development in sources of entertainment as concerts, shadow plays [Khayal El Zel], studio construction in Egypt and others.

The idea of the book began by Othman posting some unknown stories from the Egyptian history on Facebook. Later, he decided to recollect them into a printed encyclopedia.

The book managed to catch the attraction of people from different ages.
