Cairo - August 26 2017: The president of the Luxor African Film Festival Sayed Fouad revealed that the poster of the seventh edition of the festival will bear the face of the late African icon Nelson Mandela.

Fouad admitted that the choice of Mandela came because he represents a symbol of struggle and contention for the homeland and human being in Africa and the whole world. The seventh session of the festival in 2018 coincides as well with the centenary of Mandela, who was born in July 1918 and died in December 2013.

The poster takes the shape of Africa’s map, which is the festival's top priority. The festival will feature a number of films on the life and struggle of Nelson Mandela. The Festival poster is designed by Ahmed Seyam, it was used previously as the poster of the third edition and was admired by all the festival guests at that time.

It is worth mentioning that the Luxor African Film Festival was founded and evaluated by the Youth Artists Foundation, under the auspices and support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, Luxor Governorate and the Film Syndicate.
