CAIRO - 23 August 2017: Hisham Abbas and the Jets band will participate in the 26th Citadel Festival for Music and Singing at Mahaki theatre on Friday, 25 August at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. respectively.

It is the first time for Abbas to participate in the Festival; where he will introduce a variety of his popular songs.

The Jets, an Egyptian band led by the composer and music distributer Samir Habib, will present Arab and foreign songs from the 20th century with contemporary redistribution.

Abbas is an Egyptian singer born in 1963. He continued his higher education at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he studied engineering, but he had a stronger passion for music than engineering. His famous song is ‘Narri Narren’ that won many popular prizes and heightened his popularity.

The Jets band was established in 1975 by Habib and six composers and singers. The band has presented many songs of their writing and composition such as; ‘Linda Linda,’ ‘Banat El-Eshrin,’ ‘Sena'ah Masreyah’ and ‘Talab Elqahwa.’ It was the latter song that made them famous.

The Salah El Din Citadel Festival organized by Cairo Opera House has been showcasing multi-disciplinary performances starting August 12 and ending August 25.

The Festival will also feature classical performances by Rola Zaki and Amr Yehia and will be conducted by Mohamed Saad Basha, with music by Nesma Abdel Aziz, Tunisian artists Ghalia bin Ali and Mohamed Mohsen, and renowned Egyptian singer Medhat Saleh, among others.
