CAIRO - 19 August 2017: The Cultural Development Fun is launching the third edition of Golden Sound Competition in honor the late musician, Mohsen Farouk.

The Golden Voice competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and will be held at Cairo Opera House. Applications open on August 20 and close on September 20. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old and younger than 30.

The applicant must be Egyptian and submissions must be an Arabic song on the first stage. The second stage of the competition will accept submissions in poem or monologue form.

The first place prize is worth LE 10,000, an award, and a certificate of appreciation. The second place prize is LE 7,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a medal. The third place prize is LE 5,000, a certificate of appreciation, and medal also. For the fourth and fifth prizes, participants will also be awarded certificates of appreciation and medal. The application fee is LE 50.
