CAIRO- 18 August 2017: The ‎ Heliopolis Library will host a symposium about the main differences and similarities between cinema and theatre writing on Monday, August 28, at 7 p.m. The symposium will discuss the definition of theatre and cinema and the differences between them.

The Sawiris Cultural Award, whose top prize is LE 100,000 ($ 56,000), is a prestigious Egyptian prize established in 2005 by the Sawiris Foundation, a human development organization established by the Sawiris family. The 2015 Sawiris Cultural Award went to writer Mohamed Mahrous for his script for Dawaier al-Saad.

The 2015 Sawiris Cultural Awards were announced in a ceremony held in the Cairo Opera House in 2016. These awards are handed to artists in six different fields: Best Novel and Story Collection for Established Writer; Best Novel and Short Story Collection for Emerging Writers; Best Film Script for Established Writers, Best Film Script for emerging Writers; Best Theatre Script; and Best Work of Literary Criticism, according to Ahram Online.
