CAIRO – 21 July 2017: Christopher Nolan’s new drama ‘Dunkirk’ hit Egyptian theatres Friday. The movie is screening in IMAX as well.

The plot revolves around British troops who are being trapped on a French beach during World War II. Movie reviews exceeded all expectations; it is believed that Nolan will get his first Oscar for this movie, overcoming his love-hate relationship with Oscars, according to The Independent. Nolan has been nominated for 3 times, but he did not receive an award yet.

“The director's new war epic Dunkirk has been placed at 2/1 to win the Oscar for Best Picture with bookmakers William Hill,” The Independent wrote. “If not Best Picture, Nolan surely has a very good chance of landing Best Director, an award he has surprisingly never been nominated for.” It added.

“Dunkirk” scored 9.1 out of 10 on IMDB and 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Todd McCarthy of The Hollywood Reporter called it an "impressionist masterpiece," while Chris Nashawaty of Entertainment Weekly said the film "is visceral, big-budget filmmaking that can be called Art."

“Dunkirk” stars Fionn Whitehead, Damien Bonnard and Tom Hardy. It is written and directed by Nolan.
