CAIRO – 19 July 2017: Sony's upcoming movie adaptation of horror writer Stephen King's sprawling epic 'The Dark Tower' has already faced concern from fans online, particularly over the film's runtime slated for a release next month.

The film stars Idris Elba as gunslinger Roland on a quest to stop a 'The Man In Black', played by Matthew McConaughey from reaching the titular Dark Tower. Roland is joined by a young boy, portrayed by Tom Taylor.

Infamous for being hard to get to and massively complicated in plotline, fans of the bookseries fear that the film's 95 minute runtime will be inadequate in order to properly adapt the series.

Other fans have faced concern that the film's poor marketing might lead it to becoming a flop, common with ambitious adaptations of epic novels.
