CAIRO – 16 July 2017: Famed American actor Forest Whitaker has been invited to the El Gouna Film Festival of September 2018. Located 25 kilometers north of Hurghada, El Gouna doubles as a town and resort, serving as a good tourist destination for those interested in visiting Egypt's red sea.

Whitaker is most known for his prolific acting career, though he has also taken up the director's hat and is a proponent for social activism. 'The Last King of Scotland', which starred Whitaker in the harrowing role of the ruthless Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, won the actor the 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture' award at the Golden Globes, amongst numerous others.
