Director of NMEC, Ambassador of Spain inaugurate ‘Inspection Trips to Archaeological Sites in Upper Egypt & the Edward Toda Archive’ exhibition

Director of National Museum of Egyptian Civilization  (NMEC) and the Ambassador of Spain in Cairo inaugurated an exhibition of archival photos entitled “Inspection Trips to Archaeological Sites in Upper Egypt and the Edward Toda Archive”.  
 
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a scientific symposium was organized for a group of Egyptian and Spanish archaeologists on the history of the Spanish archaeological missions’ work in Upper Egypt and their most important discoveries.
 
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is one of the most important national projects adopted by the state.
 
 
It is one of the largest international museums, as well as the only museum of its kind in Egypt, the Arab world, the Middle East and Africa.
 
 
The museum presents the richness and diversity of the Egyptian civilization, starting from prehistoric times to the present time.
 
 
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization houses the gold and lapis lazuli bracelets of King Ramses II.
 
The bracelets date back to the 18th Dynasty, the period of the reign of King Ramses II (1279-1213 BC). It is made of gold and lapis lazuli, and was found in Tell Basta - east of the Delta.
