Ambassador of Republic of Korea discusses with Minister of Tourism & Antiquities ways to enhance cultural cooperation between the two nations

Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Egypt, Mr. Hong Jin-wook met with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Khaled El-Anany on Monday, June 26th to exchange views on ways to enhance people to people exchange and enhance cultural cooperation between the two nations. 
 
Ambassador Hong said that the relation between Korea and Egypt is witnessing active and tangible progress in various areas beyond the traditional trade and investment centered cooperation. Ambassador Hong also stressed that enhancing people to people exchange through activating tourism and cultural cooperation is very important to promote mutual understanding between the two countries.
 
Minister Dr. Khaled El-Anany said that the Egyptian tourism industry is recovering from the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, adding that he fully agrees with Ambassador Hong’s point of view on the importance of expanding human exchange and the Minister expressed his wishes to see increasing number of Korean tourists to Egypt in the future.
 
The two sides agreed to work closely to enhance people to people exchange and strengthen cultural cooperation between the two countries, and discussed ways of cooperation including the resuming of direct flight between the two countries and cultural heritage ODA cooperation.
 
"Enhancing people to people exchange and strengthening cultural cooperation will be the solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations” Ambassdor Hong said.
