CAIRO – 22 June 2022: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' Department of Culture Development and Community Communication, is organizing a symposium entitled “Myths of Horror in Ancient Civilizations & their Relationship with Suspense Literature”, on June 22 at 6 pm in Al-Sennari Archaeological House.

The symposium focuses on horror myths and stories of strange fictional nature, which come as a clear evidence of the intelligence of ancient humans.

The symposium highlights the importance of myths in answering both the most difficult and the simplest questions about human history alike. It discusses the idea that primitive myths are considered a line linking the modern human history to the early beginnings of societies, and that it is a fertile material for suspense literature.

This symposium comes within the framework of the efforts to raise awareness and encourage knowledge of human culture, history and heritage.
