CAIRO – 24 May 2022: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem confirmed that Taha Hussein's experience benefited everyone in Egypt and the Arab world.

During her presence at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair that launched on May 23 with Taha Hussein representing its main personality, Abdel Dayem added that everyone is happy with this choice, which once again brought the spotlight on the Dean of Arabic Literature.

Moreover, Abdel Dayem pointed out that “we are still intellectually living on the thought of Taha Hussein”, who was ahead of his time. In 2023, Egypt will hold a celebration commemorating his 50th passing anniversary.

The activities of the 31st Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will be held from May 23-29, with the participation of more than 1,000 publishers representing 80 countries. More than 450 events will be held throughout the days of the book fair.
