CAIRO – 22 May 2022: On May 28 at 7 p.m., Adam Hanin Hall at Al-Hanager Cultural Center will hold "A lover in love with Egypt” exhibition for the late plastic artist Kamal Yaknour.

Yaknour was born in Cairo in 1925. His artistic journey began after he obtained a diploma from the Leonardo da Vinci Institute in Photography in 1952, in addition to the Leonardo da Vinci Institute diploma in decoration in 1956, and a diploma in advertising in 1960.

 

 

 

 

After that, he joined the free department at the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1945, and was also a graduate of the American University in Cairo, Department of English.

 

 

 

 

Among the artistic tasks that he participated in, comes his work in 3 documentaries under the titles of Contemporary Egyptian Artist, The Artist and the Egyptian Countryside & Art and the Relationship of Environment & Heritage.

 

 

 

 

Yaknour is considered one of the pioneers of the contemporary Egyptian school, which derives its formation language from the environment and heritage and expresses the mood, thinking, traditions and concerns of the Egyptian people in an honest manner without exaggeration.

 

 

 

 

 

Yaknour passed away in 2000.
