CAIRO – 10 May 2022: On May 10 at 1 pm, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina will hold  “Exhibition 100/100” in the Eastern Exhibition Hall at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Conference Center. The exhibition runs until May 23.

Exhibition 100/100 includes the best hundred Arabic posters. It is an official non-profit poster competition held every 2 years at the Faculty of Arts and Applied Sciences, Department of Graphic Design at the German University in Cairo, by a group of academics. The competition aims to document the visual culture of the contemporary Arab world by reviewing Arab posters, and choosing the best of them.

It also strives to make a  platform that inspires, connects and educates emerging talent, professionals and academics around the world, through organizing workshops and panel discussions, as well as through writing and publishing articles on graphic design.

The competition welcomes all designers who have worked in the Arab region, have used the Arabic language in their work, or have projects with clients or universities in the Arab region. Participation is free of charge.

The winning posters will be displayed in the 100/100 Animated Exhibition that travels to various countries in the Arab region and beyond.

Through this work, the competition team seeks to promote the poster's status as an important means of communication in public spaces, generating discussions about the poster's role, composition, content and implementation techniques.
