CAIRO – 25 April 2022: Egyptian mezzo-soprano Farrah el-Dibani presented a dazzling performance during the election party held to celebrate French President Emmanuel Macron's electoral triumph over Marine Le Pen for a second term, where she sang the French national anthem La Marseillaise.

 

 

 

 

At the end of the celebratory event, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his happiness and admiration for the voice of Farrah el-Dibani, who is the first foreigner to sing the anthem La Marseillaise during a French presidential ceremony. Macron went to her, kissed her hand and thanked her.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Farrah el-Dibani is an Egyptian opera singer, born in Alexandria, and is 33 years old. She grew up in a musical family environment.

 

 

 

 

Since her childhood, she was accustomed to listening to classical music, which her parents loved. Her grandfather was a pianist who teached her to play the piano at the tender age of 7. At the age of 14, she began receiving vocal training with the famous Egyptian opera singer, Neven Allouba.

 

 

 

 

Dibani received her Bachelor of Arts from the Hanns-Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. In 2016, she joined the Académie des Opera in Paris. In 2019, she won her famous award for operatic singing, becoming the first Egyptian singer to receive it. In 2013, she won the third prize from the International Giulio Perotti Opera Singing Competition.

 

 

 

 

 

Dibani sang on the most famous theaters in Europe, including the Paris and Berlin Operas, and was honored by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh in 2021.
