Within 7 years, Egypt’s Grand Museum is 80% completed

CAIRO – 18 April 2022: As we patiently await the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the biggest museum dedicated to a single civilization, we review the work progress in the museum.

 

 

 

 

The completed works of the Entrance Hall and the Grand Staircase of the Grand Egyptian Museum has reached 99.8 percent.

 

 

 

 

King Tutankhamun’s Hall in the Grand Egyptian Museum is 99 percent completed, and more than 4,700 artifacts from the treasures of King Tutankhamun were placed in their designated places. The finishes of the Main Exhibition Halls are 96 percent completed, and so far more than 56,000 artifacts have been transferred to the museum.

 

 

 

 

The completion rate of the site’s works has reached 99 percent, the structural work has been 100 percent completed, and interior finishes are 99.8 percent complete.

 

 

 

 

The rate of achievement in implementing electromechanical systems reached 96 percent, and in implementing ICT communications and insurance systems reached 90 percent.

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, the works on the external yards and green spaces are 98 percent completed, the works on the surrounding external roads are 92 percent completed, and the works on the facade overlooking the Great Pyramids are 99.8 percent completed.

 

 

 

 

The concrete and metal hull works for the Khufu Boat Museum is 100 percent completed, and the necessary finishing works are underway for the building.
