Former Yemeni President Ali Nasser Mohamed visits National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

CAIRO – 3 February 2022: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat received former Yemeni President Ali Nasser Mohamed, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Cairo Ali Mohsen Hamid, and an accompanying delegation.

 

 

 

 

CEO of the Museum Authority Ahmed Ghoneim,  welcomed the former president and his accompanying delegation and gave them an overview of the museum, its establishment, and the unique displayed artifacts that narrate the history of the Egyptian civilization through different ages. Ghoneim also gifted them the catalog of mummies.

 

 

 

 

The former Yemeni President expressed his appreciation of this valuable gift.

The former Yemeni President and his accompanying delegation toured the museum with archaeologist Raouf Amin. They got acquainted with the Main Exhibition Hall and its treasures, and the Hall of Royal Mummies, which has become the focus of the world’s attention since April 2021 when the mummies were transferred in a majestic procession from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to Fustat.

During the tour, the former Yemeni President and his accompanying delegation expressed their admiration of the distinguished artifacts displayed in the museum and the way they are displayed.

Mohamed gifted his book "Memory of a Nation: The People's Democratic Republic of Yemen" to the museum, and was keen to write a word in the VIP visitors' book, in which he praised the museum and its holdings.
