1958 - Syria and Egypt sign the Charter of Arab Unity between the two countries under the name of the United Arab Republic.

 

 

 

2008 - The ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al- Maktoum, appoints his son Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum as the crown prince of Dubai.
