CAIRO – 26 January 2022: The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is set to announce the longlist for 2022 on January 26, after it had been postponed from last Monday.

The Jordanian writer, Jalal Barjas, had won the Internaitonal Prize for Arabic Fiction in its 14th edition for the year 2021.

The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is one of the most prestigious literary prizes in the Arab world, as it aims to reward excellence in contemporary Arabic literature.

The International Prize for Arabic Fiction was established in 2007 and is sponsored by the Booker Prize Foundation in London, and funded by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi.

The award is granted exclusively in the field of novel, and a shortlist of six novels is drawn from the longlist to compete for the award.

Each shortlisted nominee will receive $10,000, and the winner will receive an additional $50,000.
