CAIRO - 9 January 2022: “Jerusalem Speaks” deals with free speech and oppression.

Standing up for what you believe in has never been more important in our cultural world.

From Black Lives Matter protest tracks to song lyrics that tackle mental health, it’s increasingly important to have a voice on important matters.

Jordanian/Palestinian artist Hani Mitwasi has used his voice to great effect on his new single ‘Jerusalem Speaks.’

“Jerusalem Speaks” is a rousing anthem that blends angry, almost rock drums with powerful Middle Eastern melodies.

You can hear Hani’s diverse influences - including Micheal Jackson, Gipsy kings, Paco de Lucia, Eric Clapton and Fairouz - shining through on his latest release.

Written during the height of lockdown, ‘Jerusalem Speaks’ is a ‘new age anthem’ according to singer, songwriter and music producer Hani.

“It’s a call of Intellectual revolution and peace. It is about empowerment, determination and standing up for what’s right. I believe this is the only way we can free the world from injustice and corruption.”

Hani has had an impressive career to date including collaborating with Grammy-award winning producer Quincy Jones while his music has been streamed over 50 million times. He’s performed in front of over 100,000 across dozens of countries and was a TV judge on talent show Jordan Star.

And his latest track, ‘Jerusalem Speaks,’ will resonate with many of his fans as it tackles big, timely issues like injustice and oppression. But importantly, it’s a song that empowers the listener and chooses hope over fear.

‘The song backs the new generation line of free thought, strength and determination that cannot be deterred by fear and the belief that the voice of truth is louder and stronger than any power or violence.’

‘Jerusalem Speaks’ is released on 7th of January 2022
