CAIRO – 4 January 2022: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem announced extending the duration of the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair, which will kick off on January 26 and will run until February 7 instead of February 6 at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions and Conferences.

This came following the meeting of the exhibition’s higher committee headed by Haitham El-Hag.

Abdel Dayem said that the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair returns to its original date at the end of January of each year, after the last edition of the book fair was held exceptionally during the month of June 2021 due to the global pandemic.

She stressed that the upcoming edition will witness an increase in the number of exhibition days reaching 13 consecutive days to provide the public with an opportunity to visit the exhibition and to  support the book and publishing industry.

It is noteworthy that the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair bears the slogan "Egypt's Identity" and Greece will be the guest of honor. The late writers Yehia Haqqi and Abdel Tawab Youssef were chosen as personalities of the year.
