CAIRO – 10 November 2021: Within the framework of the efforts exerted by Head of the Musicians Syndicate Hani Shaker to coordinate with various state institutions to preserve the artistic public taste and the Egyptian songs’ identity, Shaker met with Director of the Department of Moral Affairs of the Egyptian Armed Forces Yasser Abdulaziz Al-Asraiji.

Shaker was accompanied by the Syndicate’s First Agent Maestro Mohammad Abul-Yazid, the Syndicate’s Secretary-General Maestro Ahmed Ramadan, Head of the Housing Committee Nadia Mustafa, Head of the Labor Committee Mansour Hindi, and the Syndicate’s Legal Advisor Alaa Amer.

The meeting dealt with various topics, including ways to preserve the Egyptian song, which carries noble moral and social values, and ways to save it through this defining stage in the history of Egyptian art, after it was touched by the absurdity of abusers with relegated words and actions that undermine the morals of Egypt’s youth and urge them to morally decline.

Moreover, the meeting stressed the necessity of the continuous coordination between the Syndicate and the Moral Affairs Department of the Armed Forces to activate the decisions to ban those who are not members of the union and those who are not authorized to pursue a singing career.

The meeting also discussed a very important topic, which is observing the behavior of the performers on stage and standing up to any deviation from public morals in terms of both lyrics and general behavior.
