CAIRO – 31 October 2021: The Austrian Cultural Center in Cairo is organizing a literary evening that will host the Austrian writer Martin Bloderer, with the participation of the Egyptian writer Tarek Abdel Bari, on October 31 at 7 p.m., at Prince Taz Palace.

The evening presents a reading of the texts of Austrian authors Arthur Schnitzler and Stefan Zweig and comes as a literary journey into the world of Vienna around the beginning of the 20th  century.

The event aims to recall the memories of a group of Vienna’s greatest characters, including the painter Klimt, psychologist Freud and musician Gustav Mahler, and reviews the conditions of the city in the pre-war period.

The texts will be read in German and Arabic, and will be accompanied by a cello performance by Fahmy Tarek, who will present a number of compositions by Gustav Mahler, Anton Bruckner and Alan Berg.
