Even the most ardent of cinema traditionalists must concede that as more and more of our lives are shifting online, so have our viewing habits - and so production and distribution models must adjust.

The era of digital and on-demand has forced the cinema industry to rethink, but it’s also opened up opportunities for content creators of all kinds and given access to a potential portal to millions of viewers.

From this perspective El Gouna Film Festival organized, ‘Ready to Go OTT: Taking Your Content Online’ panel which housed Darine El Khatib,OSN's SVP of Arabic Services and Original Productions;  Nadine Samra, CBO of Weyyak platform; and architect and producer, Mohammed Nagro, to the stage for a fascinating discussion moderated by Abu Dhabi Film Commissioner, Hans Fraikin.

While the advent of online content has essentially democratised the field, it’s far from a free-for-all, and the world of digital presents its own challenges and complexities.
