CAIRO - 11 October 2021: From “Nour El Ein'' to “Amaken El Sahar”, Diab’s continent-crossing sounds and relatable lyrics made him touch people from all around the world.

For the past thirty years, Amr Diab has captured people’s hearts all over the world. 

He is a trendsetting icon who resonates with different generations through his music and talent. 

 

Born in 1961 in Port Said, Diab has risen to fame over the past two decades in the Arab world and continues to break sale records, according to a BBC report and his official Facebook page. 

His most famous album, “Nour el-Ain” (Our Eyes Beam), brought him international recognition and earned him the title of “The Father of Mediterranean Music” for his style of blending Egyptian and western rhythms. 

The mega star, who founded the record company Mediterranean Music, had his songs translated into seven different languages.

Diab received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Big Apple Music Awards in 2009. 

At the 2014 World Music Awards, Diab was also awarded Best Egyptian Artist, Best Male Arab Artist and World Best Arab Male Artist Voted Online. 

Diab’s first album, “Ya Tareeq” (The Path), was released in 1983. 

His album “Meaddy El-Nas” (Surpassing People) was released in July 2017, following a major viral promotion campaign across Cairo sponsored by Egypt Linx. 

Diab has established himself as an acclaimed recording artist in most Mediterranean countries. 

According to a research by Michael Frishkopf, he has created his style termed as "Mediterranean Music", a blend of Western and Egyptian rhythms.

The journey of Amr Diab’s music has been one of growing musical excellence since the beginning. 

His albums have topped the international charts and many of his songs were translated into several languages.

Five of his albums topped Billboard’s global top ten hits, in addition to winning many international awards during his career;  Amr Diab is the first Arab singer to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, where he was recorded as the first Arab singer to receive the largest number of international music awards for most album sales in the Middle East.

In 2014, Amr Diab received the World Music Awards, and won three awards, as Best Egyptian Artist, Best Male Arab Artist, and Best-selling Arab Album (El Leila) being the only Arab singer who has achieved this, he was also voted World’s Best Arab Male Artist.

Diab was the most listened to singer on Anghami in 2018; his album “Kol Hayati” (All My Life) was listened to a record number of times. 

Diab adopted a new marketing strategy to promote his albums where he releases a new song almost every week. 

Diab collaborated with several poets, composers and distributers in his recent albums, including Tarek Madkour, Ayman Bahgat Amar, Nader Hamdy, Amr Mostafa and Ahmed el-Malky, Tamer Hussein among others. 

He is a Guinness world record holder, best selling middle eastern artist, 7 times winner of world music awards, 5 platinum records.

In 2016, Diab became the first Egyptian and Arab artist to break a Guinness World Record for the number of World Music Awards he achieved. 

It is worth mentioning that Diab performed live in Jeddah at King Abdullah Sports City on June 10, 2019 and performed a massive concert recently at Riyadh season. 

Also, Diab, famed British singer James Arthurand famed Turkish record producer Mahmut Oran performed in the grand ceremony of the American University in Cairo's centennial anniversary. 

 

Forbes Middle East announced its Top 100 Arab Celebrities for 2020 and Diab tops Middle East celebrities list.

 

His song "Amaken el-Sahar” toped YouTube trends. 

The song was released on his official “YouTube” channel.

"Amaken el-Sahar” achieved huge success, amassing millions views.

The song featured Dina el-Sherbiny for the first time as well some of Diab’s friends.

The song claimed number one on Egypt’s YouTube trending list within a day from its release.

“Amakan el-Sahar” which was shot in North Coast is written by Tamer Hussein, composed by Aziz El-Shafei, distributed by Tarek Madkour, and directed by Ahmed el-Naggar.

 

 

 

 

Forbes Middle East announced its Top 100 Arab Celebrities for 2020 and Diab topped Middle East celebrities list.

 

 

Diab performed at French embassy in Cairo on April 9, 2021.

 

 

Recently Diab performed at 31North Launch Event 'The First Festival Tower at The New Capital'.

 

Diab launched his first perfume titled ‘ Amr Diab Eau De Perfume 34’ on February 2021.

 

Diab is the first Arab singer who launches perfume bearing his name.

 

The Egyptian megastar shot the perfume ad in Dubai with Egyptian model Engy Kiwan.

 

Diab performed a live concert at Dubai International Stadium on January 22, 2021.

Veteran Egyptian writer Ibrahim Eissa will write  Diab’s first TV series titled “ El Seera”.

The series will tackle Diab artistic journey starting from his beginnings in Port Said till he became one of the biggest stars in the Middle East.

 

 

 

 Diab released his  album “Ya Ana Ya La’aa” ( It Is Me Or No) on December 25, 2020.

 

 

 

Egyptian megastar Amr Diab released his song “El Donia Betorkos” ( The World Is Dancing) on July 9, 2021.

 

 

”El Donia Betorkos” is written by Malak Adel, composed by Ahmed Yehia, distributed by Ahmed Ibrahim and the song video is directed by Tarek Alarian.

 

Diab’s  joyful song “ El Donia Betrokos” reflected a cheerful summery mood and famed Egyptian actress Huda el Mufti participated in the song video  as its main model.

 

Diab performed live concert at Jeddah on June 18, 2021.

 

The concert was organized by Saudi General Entairtainment Authority.
