1951 - Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa el-Nahhas agrees with the leaders of his government to cancel the "1936 Treaty" and the "Treaty of Dual Rule of Sudan" signed in 1899 with Britain.

 

 

 

1990 - Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al-Maktoum takes over the emirate of Dubai, succeeding his father, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al-Maktoum.
